REST IN WONDER

I feel an urgency!

…to slow way down,

so I can feel

my heart percussing

to my soul song.

I settle in to listen, and 

discover sweet yellow birds

singing my name

in the moon light,

as we circle the sun.

"How long have they been singing, without me hearing them?", I sadly wonder. 

I mourn the loss, but then, 

I’m swiftly carried 

by their uplifting chirps!

Such delighted OOH’s and AH’s,

as they fly over the

brilliant fall crimson trees.

I settle in to listen, 

discovering 

a deep quiet

that resides 

in the moment,

then a peace

washes over me,

as I rest in wonder.
